On December 24th, my family and I headed back to Chimney Rock, NC for Christmas.
Since it was already Christmas Eve when we got there, we unpacked and went to a Christmas Eve service and then to see Christmas lights in downtown Forest City, NC.
The next morning was Christmas!!! We woke up to see what Santa brought, had a big Christmas breakfast, then opened up the rest of our presents from family members. I wasn’t able to get any pictures of Christmas morning because we were all too invested in our breakfast and presents 😉 The rest of the day we sat around being lazy and had our big Christmas dinner. After dinner, we all popped our “Christmas Crackers” and wore our crowns while eating pumpkin, chocolate, and pecan pie, then took our annual Christmas night trip to the movies to see “Daddy’s Home”.
The next day, we played games, relaxed by the fire, took a walk through the village, and did more eating!
Sunday, we all went to church then packed up to head home.
Already counting down the days until I’m back in the mountains with the whole family! 🙂
On December 31st, my family went to Raleigh to my grandparents’ house and had New Year’s festivities and played games. At 5:00pm we drove to downtown Raleigh for “First Night Raleigh”. We listened to bagpipers, rode rides, went to comedy shows, ate junk food, ballroom danced, and waited for the acorn to drop at 12:00am to welcome in the new year. Our night concluded with fireworks and listening to a Celtic band.
Hope everyone has a wonderful 2016!
Until next time,
