Today was a Christmas filled day! This morning was the Raleigh Christmas parade and then this evening was the Christmas Tree Lighting event at North Hills 🙂
The Raleigh Christmas Parade started at 10 this morning, so we got there just in time to get a good seat and enjoy free hot chocolate a church was giving out. Christmas parade plus hot chocolate!? #winning
There were so many things in the parade that I loved, but these are just a few of my favorites. Obviously Shrek was on the top of my list. Also, Cary High School’s marching band is going to be in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
A visit from Santa at the end of the parade 🙂
Once the parade was over at 12pm, we walked across the street to the North Carolina Museum of History to attend the annual American Indian Heritage Celebration. I wasn’t able to get any pictures of this event because there were too many people in front of me, but I highly suggest you look up the event on Google. It’s so neat!
After that, we went to the Christmas Tree Lighting at North Hills. The event lasted from 4-6pm so we listened to the performances and drank Starbucks’ while waiting for the lighting of the Christmas tree.
The University of North Carolina’s a cappella group performed along with the Grinch to advertise for How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which is coming to the Durham Performing Arts Center, and then The Legacy Motown Revue performed while waiting for the tree lighting to start.
The event ended with everyone singing Christmas songs and counting down to the tree lighting.
Now we’re finally warm at our house in Christmas pajamas while watching Hallmark premier Christmas movies 🙂
What a perfect Saturday!
Until next time,
