Thanksgiving Vacation

Thanksgiving Vacation 2017 was pretty perfect. Spending time with family, waking up with coffee, trying new brewskies, eating loads (mostly pumpkin pie), relaxing, exploring, trying new things in the area, and going to see a new movie with the whole family.

One thing that I did on this trip that I hadn’t tried before was visiting a new brewery that was a short walk from the house. Hickory Nut Gorge Brewery just opened in 2016 and was featured in Our State Magazine (check out the article), so I was excited to give it a try. Their craft beer is the way to go. I’m usually a cider type of gal, but I wanted to try their “Broad River Blonde,” which is a blonde ale, and I wasn’t disappointed. It was super tasty. The brewery is a cozy mountain feel with good beer and great views.

Our family takes an annual trip to the movies (either at Christmas or Thanksgiving) to see a new movie. This year we decided to see “Murder on the Orient Express,” which is one of my all time favorite Agatha Christie books. It was SO good and I won’t say anymore because I don’t want to spoil it. Definitely would suggest going to see it. Also, I saw the preview for “The Post” coming out later and as a journalist major, I’m pretty pumped to go see that movie too.

Anywho, I am so Thankful for the past couple of days with the family and having a break from the daily routine.

I hope all of you had a great break as well and continue to be thankful for what you have, even when going back to daily routines.

Until next time,

Caitlin xxx
