This week’s Coffee Talk is about the premier of the Bachelorette. Grab a cup of coffee or leftover wine from last night, and let’s chat.
Last season of the Bachelor with Arie, I didn’t really care for because it seemed way cheesier than usual seasons. I know, I know. The Bachelor is always cheesy and people think the whole concept is odd. I agree. It is weird that someone could fall in love with more than one person, or find their person on a reality TV show and then try to stay together after the season. But then you see the relationships that have worked out because of the show, and now they have a family and you get invested in the show.
With Bachelor/Bachelorette brackets to play along with, live tweeting, drinking wine, watching Instagram stories about it, it is hard not to like the show. I used to not be a huge fan of the show, but then I watched the first episode of Chris Soules’ season and got hooked. Then I watched the rest of the seasons and Bachelor in Paradise and now I can’t just stop watching it.
With that being said, this season is Becca K’s turn to try to find love. I liked Becca on Arie’s season, especially after their first one-on-one date, but I had a feeling she wasn’t the one for him. When he proposed to her instead of Lauren, it was weird just because of the connection he had with Lauren. I was hoping he would get back together with Lauren and then he did, after having to show all the drama of Arie’s breakup with Becca.
I am a fan of the Bachelor, but people were taking it way too far bashing Arie for what he did. Do people really think Arie reads every tweet and actually cares what people have to say? More than likely no, so people need to stay out of it. The seasons are fun to watch, but there’s a point where people get too invested in these peoples lives. According to social media, it looks like Arie made the right decision to go back to Lauren anyway.
Back to Becca K. From watching Arie’s season, Becca seems really nice, easy to be around, fun, and mature. It seems like all the girls in the house pretty much liked her. We already met her family on Arie’s season and they seem pretty cool too, so that’s a plus. I’m glad that she is the one who is the bachelorette even though I really wanted it to be Tia. I do have mixed feelings about this season though. The guys on this season don’t seem that great.
I’m probably wrong, but they just seem too boring or like frat boys to me. Like they live to party and nothing else. When I watched the live video of Chris Harrison revealing the guys, the only one I kind of liked was Alex. Watching the first episode last night, the one that I really liked was Colton. The reasons are: he opened his own foundation called the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, cares about kids, he’s only been in one serious relationship (he doesn’t sleep with every girl he comes in contact with), he was a football player, he seems like a family man, looks like the cuddly type, and his best friend is his dog. Plus he’s very handsome! What more could a girl want?
Hopefully there won’t be as corny of dates on this season either. I would have been glad to stay home from the dates Arie took the girls on last season, especially the wrestling date. Anyone else feel the same? I am looking forward to this season though. First episodes are always fun to watch because you haven’t seen all the sides of the contestants yet, so you don’t get super bummed when the one person who was actually good goes home instead of the annoying dramatic one.
What do you guys think of Becca’s season? Are you looking forward to it? Do you play the brackets and get invested, or just watch it every now and then? After watching last night’s episode, do you have a favorite contestant yet?
I would love to hear what you guys think of this season! I will also be tweeting about it so you can go to my twitter (located on my home page) to keep up with my tweets and tweet with me! I also would like suggestions. Would it be cool to do a blog post about my thoughts after each episode of the Bachelorette or just a blog post every now and then? Let me know what you guys think!
Oh, did anyone else think that the chicken dude would be perfect for the dolphin/shark girl? As soon as he stepped out of the limo, I immediately thought of her. Maybe they’ll be together on the Bachelor in Paradise. Or maybe he’ll be the one to get Becca’s final rose.
Grab a glass of wine and watch Becca K’s journey and let’s chat about it!
Until next time,
