Day Eight – From Edinburgh to Bamburgh Castle

Day 8

This morning, we left Scotland to go to Bamburgh Castle. I had to have my normal latte from Costa of course, then we hopped on the train. We arrived to the Berwick-upon-Tweed train station where we were going to take a taxi to Bamburgh Castle. While waiting for our taxi to arrive, we walked around the Berwick castle ruins. Our taxi came around an hour later and we got to Bamburgh castle around lunch, so we ate at the tea room at the castle before starting to explore.

Once we finished lunch, we explored the castle inside and out. After we were finished exploring inside, we went down to the beach to relax before our taxi arrived to take us to the train station to go back to my sister’s house in Durham. Before leaving, I had to stop by and say hello to my favorite sheep.

Around 5:30pm, the taxi picked us up and took us back to the Berwick train station. We ate dinner across the street and then we were already right there for the train.

We arrived back to the train station in Durham around 9:30pm and waited on my brother’s girlfriend to meet us there since she is staying at my sister’s house for the weekend to visit. Once she arrived shortly after we got there, we went to my sister and brother-in-law’s house.

Can’t believe how fast this holiday is going by! Glad we have more days here still though. I’m going to be around the Durham, England area for a little longer with two lazy days. Any suggestions on things to do in Durham are appreciated. Be sure to follow my journey and I would love to chat with you guys!

Until next time,

Caitlin
