New Month, New Goals

July was such a fun month full of traveling, experiencing new things, exploring new places, starting back on being healthier, and creating a lot of fun memories. The beginning of July was spent in England and went by so quickly. Once I was back from England, things started slowing down and I’m taking this time to relax before college starts back.

I’ve started reading a lot more in my free time, meditating in the mornings and evenings, working out every morning, and eating healthier. I’ve also decided to cut back on social media use, so I haven’t posted on Instagram in a while.

I’m currently in the mountains of NC for the weekend for a nice getaway. It’s been raining here everyday so far, which I absolutely love! There’s something about waking up in the mountains with it raining and drinking coffee that is super relaxing.

As fast as July has passed, I’m looking forward to a new month and new opportunities. I start back to college in a few weeks and I don’t know what to expect out of this semester. I’m a year away from graduating, so this coming up semester is going to be filled with tough classes and looking for internships.

In past semesters when things got stressful (the majority of the time since I was taking eight classes), I didn’t deal with it well and just wanted to quit. I would want the semester to hurry and be over and I dreaded going to class everyday. This semester I’m going to make it a goal to not think that way. No matter how hard the classes are and not knowing what to expect with the future, I’m going to deal with the stress and work on being in the moment and finding positivity in all my situations. Even the situations where I feel like I just want to quit.

So here’s to August. Enjoying the unexpected, being in touch with my feelings, dealing with my stress, not overthinking, not self doubting, pushing myself more, not freaking out when I get a lower grade than what I wanted, not backing out of things because I tell myself “I won’t be good enough,” not worrying about the past or future, continuing to meditate, continuing to exercise and eat clean, and not wishing the time away.

August 12th is also my 22nd birthday (what!) so I’m looking forward to what a new year will bring. Please suggest things to do for a 22nd birthday because I have no clue how I want to celebrate.
