The 76th Golden Globes did not disappoint this year! Although I had so many favorite looks on the red carpet for the Golden Globes, here are some of my absolute faves:
Alison Brie. Her dress was edgy with a black/silver bra underneath, but the dress looked like a princess dress and the light blue color was super pretty with her skin tone. Some dresses look uncomfortable to wear, but her’s looked really comfortable and light weight.
Kaley Cuoco. Her dress had pockets! Seriously the best. It was super elegant with a dark blue velvet top and the bottom part was silky and white. Her hair was also straight and pulled back in the middle and she had neutral makeup on which I am a fan of.
Emily Blunt. Holy moly talk about couple goals. Can John Krasinski and Emily Blunt look any better? I absolutely loved her dress! It was a unique silver dress with tedious designs all over. Even her eye shadow was on point.
Lady Gaga. I wasn’t a fan of her look at first. I really wish she had her hair either blonde or brunette and I wasn’t a huge fan of her dress either. Her hair was a bluish/white and her dress was a light blue dress with huge puffy sleeves. But after seeing her more, I really like her look. It was different and bold and looked perfect for her style.
Hale Berry. She wore a slim fitting burgundy/red wine dress that had a plunging neck line. It was different than the other dresses on the red carpet, but simple as well. I loved it!
Ryan Seacrest. Even though he was interviewing the celebrities on the red carpet, it still counts. His suit was my favorite. I am a fan of the plum velvet jacket and bowtie he was wearing.
Highly suggest looking on social media for a recap of the red carpet looks.
Ok. Now on to the actual Golden Globes.
Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg opened the night with the perfect balance of comedy and realness. It wasn’t over the top political or seeming like a waste of time. I really liked the mood they set for the night and carried throughout the show. Sandra Oh even won an award and recognized her parents being there. It was the sweetest!
Best Original Song – Motion Picture
“Shallow” from A Star Is Born. I couldn’t be more excited that “Shallow” got it. Other than loving the song during the movie, that was my song to jam out to in the car on the way to class in the mornings to get me going for the day. It’s always on repeat on my phone. Absolutely love it and am so glad it won.
Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical
Green Book won, which I haven’t seen yet. To be honest, I hadn’t really heard of it so I just googled it. The trailer and description looks really good, so I need to watch it asap. I was hoping Mary Poppins Returns would win, but you can’t go wrong with any of the movies this year. Any movie with a good message behind it about coming together is a winner to me. I’m all about equality and diversity.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama
Rami Malek won for his performance in Bohemian Rhapsody, which I am really happy about. I wanted either Bradley Cooper or Rami to win, so I’m happy with the winner of this category. His speech was really good as well, so everything about it was perfect.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama
Glenn Close won for her performance in The Wife. She was up against other amazing actresses and looked completely shocked when they announced her name. While she was giving her speech, she started to get emotional and thanked her mom. She also stated that this coming up August she will have been a working actress for 45 years. All of these winners have been such an inspiration!
Best Motion Picture – Drama
Bohemian Rhapsody won! I either wanted A Star Is Born or Bohemian Rhapsody to win this one, so again, it’s a win win. All of the movies this year were AMAZING, but these two movies were SO good, so I’m perfectly happy with Bohemian Rhapsody winning!
Can we talk about Carol Burnett though?
In my opinion, the biggest highlight of the night was Carol Burnett receiving her lifetime achievement award. As Steve Carell was talking about her, she started getting teary eyed and it was so cute. They showed a mix of her works together and then she gave her speech. Everyone in the room was completely silent while listening and getting emotional. She truly deserves the Carol Burnett Lifetime Achievement award. There is no one like Carol Burnett.
And then Jeff Bridges!
Jeff Bridges won the Cecile B. DeMille Award for his career in entertainment and philanthropy and that was a highlight of the night as well. Chris Pine gave a wonderful speech about him before showing his works, then Jeff Bridges gave his speech, which was also inspiring. He is such a legend.
Dick Van Dyke!!
We can’t forget about Dick Van Dyke making appearances on the red carpet and during the awards. What a boss! 93 years old and dancing on desks, walking red carpets, and presenting with Emily Blunt. Talk about life goals!
Overall, this was such a fun night watching the Golden Globes and it was nothing short of an amazing night full of so much talent, inspiration, and emotion, as always. From watching the E! Red Carpet and seeing the first arrivals, to watching my favorite actors and actresses winning while eating pizza and wings in my pjs, this is how a Sunday night is meant to be spent during award season. The only thing better than watching it from my house would be talking or writing about it for a full-time career. And with studying Broadcast Journalism, who knows if that will come true one day. I can only continue to work for it and hope! ❤

Be on the lookout for a new blog post tomorrow night, (Monday) as I will be posting about the Bachelor season premiere! I will have the post up right after the show (around 11pm EST). I always look forward to the first episode of the Bachelor/Bachelorette when everyone arrives out of the limo, so tomorrow night’s post is going to be fun! Also it’s Colton Underwood’s season and he was my absolute favorite, so it’s going to be even better!
Until next time,
