Taxis & Ice Cream

Today was my kind of day! This morning was started out with… you probably guessed it. Costa coffee and people watching of course! It was the perfect weather this morning to have coffee outside and all day really. Chilly and cloudy, but warm in sunny spots, which is my type of weather, so I sit outside whenever I can.

Mid-morning, we hopped on the train to Liverpool St. station to go into London. By the time we got there we were hungry for lunch, so we ate at Wagamamas before walking around.

We went all over London again, but by foot, the tube, and taxis instead of by bus and boat. Today included walking through Hyde Park and seeing Princess Diana’s memorial, watching the ducks and swans, going in Royal Albert Hall (to use the bathroom and to look around inside as far as we could go without a ticket lol), going to Kensington Palace and seeing where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement in the gardens of the palace, going into Piccadilly Circus, eating at a local pub (bangers and mash for the win), and finishing the night eating gelato ice cream cones and walking around Covent Garden and The Strand.

This is probably going to sound lame, but one of my favorite things to do while in London is to fetch taxis and ride around in them haha! We were hopping in our last taxi for the night at The Strand and when I put my hand out to signal the taxi, the nicest senior adult man pulled over and took us back to Liverpool St. station. Makes where you’re going so much more pleasant when having a nice taxi driver!

Tomorrow we’re leaving my brother and his fiancé’s house in Chelmsford to go to the north of England, Durham, Durham, to my sister and brother-in-law’s house. From Chelmsford to Durham, it’s about 5 hours by car, so I’m stoked we’re going to be taking a road trip around England.

As always, leave suggestions of your favorite places to visit or things to do around England!

Until next time,

Caitlin xxx
