From Essex to Durham

Yesterday was a road trip day. We left Chelmsford, Essex where my brother and his fiancé live, to go to my sister and brother-in-law’s house up north in Durham, Durham. It took around 8 hours to get there, so the majority of yesterday was just consisted of riding in the car. Once we arrived to their house, we ordered Dominos pizza and just chilled.

This morning we had a slow/relaxing morning watching “This Morning” and drinking coffee. Once we all got ready for the day, we went into the town to walk around. It started absolutely pouring rain, so we went into a little bookstore to watch the rain out of the window until it passed. I’m not complaining about the rain though. I’ll take the rain and the temperature in the 60s over North Carolina summer weather any day. It was the perfect weather for bookstore looking and hot tea drinking.

We had afternoon tea and treats at a local cafe for a little midday snack.

Afterwards, we explored a little more then went by Tesco just to pick up a few things for dinners. We went back to the house and made jacket potatoes with beans for dinner.

Now we’re about to start the movie “Life of the Party” and pop popcorn. After touring around so much the last few days, it was nice to have a slower day in a beautiful city ❤

Until next time,
