Fueled up and went on a weekend getaway to my hometown.
It’s always refreshing when I’m back in Rutherford county. The smell of nature, mountain views, prettiest sunsets and the smell of the fire going inside keeping the sunroom warm.
At night the only thing you can hear is the occasional truck going down the road and all you can see are the stars.
During breakfast at the diner you hear “bye y’all” when people go from the diner while drinking coffee and eating grits. Diners are my favorite. Coffee, milkshakes, small talk, long conversations, seeing people drink coffee at the bar while reading newspapers, having waitresses talk to you like they know you,…the diner is a good place for anything.
Time always seems like it slows down being here, but the visits always happen to go by too soon. And I was able to reunite with my little orange tractor. Read this post to see why this tractor is special.
I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend and a good MLK day. Tomorrow I’ll be getting back to work and class, but it definitely was nice having time off to “escape.” Oh yeah, Happy Bachelor Monday 😉
Until next time,
